Minerals and our Bodies

New Blog Series From The Makers of Ambaya Gold Liquid Supplements

Our bodies are miraculous pieces of organic matter. With well over a trillion cells in our bodies all needing to work in concert to keep us functioning well, it is a miracle that we do as well as we do. As technology has increased, pace of life has increased, we have become more transient than ever, and mass production of foods and modification of genes has depleted our foods of essential nutrients, our bodies have to continually fight to stay balanced and healthy.

We, here at Ambaya Gold, are embarking on a blog series to bring you important information on how to keep our bodies healthy and balanced. The first series of blogs is going to focus on the importance of elemental minerals in our diets. ”Metal ions are required to keep the human body healthy because several critical biological functions in humans depend upon their presence, and their absence or scarcity may lead to diseases.” (Gupta, 2018)

When looking at a periodic table of elements you will find that it is divided up into the major groups of elements (metals, semimetals (metalloids), and nonmetals). You can go even more in depth (transition metals, rare earths, alkali metals, alkaline earth, halogens, and noble gasses). To limit any confusion when reading this blog, when discussing the importance of minerals in our bodies we may interchange the word “metal” with mineral. As you can see from the diagram above, the majority of elements are classified as metals. However, when we discuss supplements we tend to refer to them as minerals. Metals are minerals and minerals are metals.

As such, minerals play an essential role in many processes in our body such as circulation, reproduction, immunity, cell communication, processing energy, oxidation, respiration, etc. Making sure that we are getting adequate amounts in our diet is essential to not only maintaining a functioning body but preventing many diseases. Minerals like Na (sodium), K (potassium), Mg (magnesium), Ca (calcium), Fe (iron), Mn (manganese), Co (cobalt), Cu (copper), Zn (zinc) and Mo (molybdenum) and many more keep us balanced and healthy.

Stay tuned as we dive into these minerals and identify their role in our bodies and how Ambaya Gold’s liquid supplements can help you stay on track to a healthy, energized you!
